Jennifer Love Hewitt’s Racey Role On The Client List

What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Jennifer Love Hewitt? For me it would be sweet, nice and pretty. That’s why I was a little bit shocked after watching the first episode of the new show she’s starring in called The Client List.

The Client ListStatus: New SeriesGenre: Drama, FamilyRate: 5.3/10Original Airing: 8 April 2012 - presentRegion: USALanguage: EnglishSubtitle: EnglishSeason 1(Ongoing)Synopsis:Based on the network's hit 2010 original movie, "The Client List" will launch on Lifetime in 2012 with 10 episodes. In addition, the network has entered into a first look development deal for both series and movies with Hewitt's production company Fedora Films, it was announced today by Nancy Dubuc, President and General Manager of Lifetime Networks. Hewitt's deal also includes her directing a future movie for the network. "The Client List" is about a Texas housewife (Hewitt), who, after being deserted by her husband, is left in deep financial straits and takes a job at a seemingly traditional day spa in a neighboring town. When she realizes massages aren't the only services on the menu, she quickly grabs the opportunity to relieve her financial hardships by partnering with the parlor's feisty and disorganized owner to run the business. The series will follow her as she delicately balances two starkly different lives -- one as a single mom in a conservative town struggling to provide for her family and the other as a savvy and ambitious businesswoman working with a rowdy, sexy and unpredictable group of women.
The Client List starts off very innocently. Jennifer plays a down home country girl named Riley with two children and a husband who’s down on his luck and jobless accepting disability checks that don’t cover their mortgage. Riley is forced to look for work and having experience as a massage therapist takes her friends advice and applies at a day spa and soon realizes that although they do take clients that only want massages the big bucks are made by the girls that provide a happy ending. Riley comes home after work and finds her husband has cleared out his stuff and left her high and dry with a house she can’t afford. Riley becomes desperate and starts becoming a classy prostitute.

I have very mixed feelings about this show. I think this show glorifies prostitution and they didn’t even do a good job showing what a real prostitute goes through every day. When she’s accepting clients that only want massages they show hairy backs and balding fat men. Then when she decides to accept clients that want the happy ending they show gorgeous glistening men with six packs who look like underwear models. I always thought the men who paid for sex couldn’t get it elsewhere for free or they had weird fetishes that any normal girl would be crazy to act out

Originally The Client List was a mini series on Lifetime and was brought back as a TV series by popular demand however not everyone was happy about this show being on television. The Client List was the subject of a nationwide campaign by Licensed Massage Therapists to stop the show in its tracks before it aired. The group is named Massage Therapists Against The Client List. It seems they don’t like how the show suggests that massage therapists provide the happy ending although many people joke about or believe that there are some out there that do. They have gathered signatures, 2,571 of them, to pull the show off the air.

“The Client List is a series that perpetuates the misconception that Massage Therapy includes inappropriate sexual contact. Massage Therapists are trained healthcare professionals and in most states are licensed and regulated by state medical boards. They adhere to a code of ethics and in some cases are under higher ethical standards than other healthcare professionals – because of these very same misconceptions. Many therapists are now working in doctor’s offices and hospitals and providing valuable therapeutic services. ‘The Client List’ is a huge step backwards.”

If you would like to watch this show and see for yourself what all the fuss is about it airs on Sunday nights on Lifetime at 10pm.

Glee VS. Smash: Who Wins?

GleeSMASH Soundtrack [Fan Made Cover]

For a long time Glee was in a league of their own with chart topping hits and amazing vocals as well as the stars that were lining up to appear on their show. Everyone overlooked the lackluster storyline because at the time there was really no competition. Then along came SMASH and, in my opinion, blew them out of the water.

I have been following Glee since the beginning. To tell you the truth I was not enamored with the acting and the storyline was laughable at times and left me feeling a tad bored but I overlooked it. Maybe Glee reminded me of my high school years. In high school I was in the choir and it was not a popular choice at the time but I loved it. I’m no Whitney Houston or Mariah Carey but I could carry a tune and I loved being part of something. I tuned in to Glee every week and enjoyed the way they remade popular chart toppers into band and choir remixes. Albums were sold and singles were downloaded and people were becoming gleeks.

SMASH premiered this year and I was blown away. SMASH is different in the fact that instead of choir they decided to focus on Broadway instead. SMASH revolves around broadway producers and writers who are casting for a new play about Marilyn Monroe. There’s drama between two women who are looking to star as the bombshell Marilyn. One is obsessed with Marilyn and has experience and one is less experienced but is an up and coming singer trying to make it big. I think they do an excellent job of weaving the personal lives in with the musical numbers and instead of just focusing on the music they’re focusing on the drama and quality acting as well. In my opinion they’ve done it all and I’m crossing my fingers they stay around for a long time because I’m in love with this show. I think Glee really needs to step it up with their storyline or they’re going to get left in the dust by SMASH and I think peoples expectations will be much higher after watching it.

As you can see from my post I prefer SMASH to Glee but maybe you feel differently. Don’t be afraid to voice your opinion below.

The Real Housewives Of Vancouver:She Should’ve Kept Her Clothes On

The Real Housewives of Vancouver: Christina Kiesel, Ronnie Seterdahl Negus, Reiko MacKenzie, and Mary Zilba

I’m sure all you Vancouverites are following The Real Housewives Of Vancouver and if not I’m guessing it’s because you’re slightly embarrassed at who’s representing our hometown. On Wednesdays episode just like I predicted Mary and Ronnie’s friendship went downhill. It seems that Ronnie and Jody are becoming friends and have left Mary sitting in the dust.
The Real Housewives of Vancouver: Christina Kiesel

Jody, having an opinion on everything, made some brutal remarks about some naughty pictures that were sent out of Christine half dressed at her birthday party. My opinion is Jody needs to keep her thoughts to herself. She thinks everyone needs therapy and acts like she’s the Queen of England sitting on her red velvet throne. Someone needs to knock her off her pedestal. Ronnie and Jody seemed to share these opinions and dished the dirt on everyone over lunch. Did anyone notice Jody’s fancy slippers she was wearing out in public? It looked like she rolled out of bed and was too lazy to put shoes on or perhaps she thinks she’s starting a new trend. My belief is slippers are meant for the bedroom and this fashion don’t is up there with men wearing socks with sandals. You would think with all her money she could afford some fancy shoes to wear out with her diamonds and fur.

The Real Housewives of Vancouver: Ronnie Seterdahl Negus

Let’s not forget the wonderful tour of Ronnie’s big beautiful house. She takes everyone on a walk through her husbands man cave and proudly babbles on about how she wanted her husband to have nude pictures of women on the walls and instead he wanted pictures of her. Very slick on his part and that probably earned him extra brownie points. I am wondering how Jody thinks it’s okay for Ronnie to put up half nude photos of herself on her walls put practically faints when she looks at provocative pictures of Christine? My feeling is she’s just a tad jealous and needs to get over herself.

While watching this episode I think the one thing I could not get over is Jody’s relationship with her daughter. Her daughters laugh makes me cringe and the way Jody treats her is unbelievable. Her daughter bought a ticket to London and Jody phoned up the airport and cancelled her ticket because she needed help around the store. Who does that? Then her daughter laughs and apologizes to her!!

I’m not sure what I find to be more disappointing. The fact that these women were the best they could find to represent Vancouver or the way these ladies treat each other. Just because you have money doesn’t mean you get to act like spoiled brats and treat people poorly. Or does it?

The Mighty Have Fallen On American Idol

Uploaded from the Photobucket Android App

For the many of you that have been following American Idol this year I have to admit that the talent is unbelievable this time around and every persons voice is amazing in their own way. To me it’s quite obvious who the final three will be or so I thought. My personal belief was that Joshua, Elise and Jessica would end up at the end together. Joshua has this gritty, gospel voice, Elise has an amazing rocker voice and Jessica has a voice that could be compared to that of Whitney Houston. Many praise her each week on her vocals, confidence and are amazed that she sounds like she’s been on a stage forever being that she’s so young. So what happened?
Elise Testone

Having watched each and every person perform the night before I sat down to watch the eliminations thinking that Elise, Joshua and Jessica had it in the bag. Ryan started calling each person to stand on either side of the stage into groups of three. He had Joshua, Jessica and Elise on one side and Colton, Hollie and Phillip on the other. He saved the talented country singer Skylar for last and asked her which group she thinks she belongs in. She refused to answer him so he walked her to Colton, Hollie and Phillip Phillips group. I think all of America, the audience and myself collectively gasped. There was complete silence and the judges were in total shock. Then Ryan revealed that Jessica got the least votes!! What??? Another huge shocker. I thought for certain that if this was the bottom three then surely Elise would have gotten the fewest votes but not Jessica!! Not only that I was in complete shock that Hollie wasn’t in the bottom three. She gave a decent performance the other night but not as great as the rest of them. My mouth dropped so low you probably could have seen my tonsils. I could almost read the judges minds. Thank goodness we didn’t use the one save yet!! I think they were waiting in case America totally got things wrong one week and tried to vote out someone who’s talented and deserving.

The judges did end up saving Jessica but I think everyone is wondering what happened? How could America get it so wrong? Did they see something we didn’t or did they just feel that she would get many votes anyway so she doesn’t need ours? I think it’s the question weighing on everybody’s mind after last nights upset.

8 Signs You’re A TV Junkie

Couch Potato

My name is Julia and I’m a TV addict. I’ve come to terms with it and accepted the fact that I watch too much television. I guess acceptance is half the battle right? Ever since I was a child I was a couch potato. I loved Saturday morning cartoons and I could never fall asleep unless my TV was on at night. There was something about being entertained before bedtime. It was kind of like a bedtime story but better. I have complied my top 8 signs you’re a TV junkie and please note that if you can relate to all 8 of these never fear because there are many of us TV junkies out there. You are not alone.

8.You put your kids to bed early so you can watch TV. I’m sure many of us are guilty of this. The clock starts ticking down and you start to prepare for your kids to go to bed at exactly 8:00 because that’s when the good shows are on. Otherwise you’re stuck with screaming, crying kids begging for attention while you’re trying desperately to catch who got voted off Survivor or what new idiotic thing Snooki said on Jersey Shore.

7.Your blood boils when your TV show is on a break. This has happened to me many times. How dare they deserve another break. Where’s my show and what am I supposed to do now? I’ve been waiting all day in anticipation and you guys so selfishly decide not to air a new episode again? On a side note there seems to be way more breaks for TV shows than there once was. Sometimes my favorite show won’t be on for weeks!!

6.Every new event in your life is compared to a television show. I find myself doing this with Seinfeld in particular. I remember one time someone told me they had a pony growing up and immediately I said “I can’t stand people who had a pony as a kid.” The funny thing was as soon as I said it everyone knew exactly what show that came from and laughed.

5.Your meals consist of easy things you can eat in front of the television. If it’s too messy and not easy enough to eat sitting on a couch then you’re not eating it for dinner in fact appetizers and snack food sound really good because you can eat them with your hands and save time on dishes so you can watch more TV. This is bordering on extreme and you may need help if you’ve checked this one off.

couch potato4.You think channel surfing is exercise. Moving your thumbs is not considered exercise and neither is getting up to go to the bathroom during commercials. You may need some serious help if this is the case or perhaps pick up a thigh master or some dumbbells to use while you’re watching TV.

3.Your TV never gets turned off even when you’re sleeping. Maybe you think to yourself that if you wake up in the middle of the night you’ll be comforted by the fact that your “friends” are on TV or maybe you justify things in your head thinking that if someone decides they want to rob your home they’ll bypass you because they’ll think somebody is awake watching TV. Either way at some point you should give your electricity a bit of a break and turn your TV off. I know it’ll seem quiet and a bit lonely but too much of something is never a good thing.

couch potato
2.All of your Facebook updates are about what TV show you’re watching tonight and all your tweets are about what happened on your favorite show. I’ve seen people that are doing this and it looks as if their entire life is wrapped up in TV and I always picture them with eyes glazed over falling asleep on chip crumbs with a half eaten twinkie in their hand.Maybe include a few other things you’re doing in the day and talk about your real friends instead of your “friends” on TV.

1.You start talking about TV like it’s reality. I know many of you have most likely done this at least I hope so or I’m bordering on crazy. Your friend phones up and you talk about what a character was up to last night on your favorite show or you start talking like characters on your favorite show or maybe you yell at the TV with the belief they can hear you. Either way when this starts happening it means TV is slowly creeping into your real life and you may need to take a bit of a break and enjoy the real world outside.

GCB Ruffles Religious Feathers

I know many have seen the show GCB and found it to be funny and why wouldn’t you? It is funny. I like the script, I’m in love with the acting and I find its take on Christianity to be quite refreshing. I haven’t seen one religious show yet that has pulled off what this show has. Religious shows in my humble opinion have been on the boring side of things until now. It seems that not everybody shares my sense of humor because GCB seems to be ruffling the feathers of the religious.

Originally GCB was supposed to be named Good Christian Bitches and that’s where the trouble began. ABC was contacted by many Christian organizations calling the name demeaning towards Christians and women even expressed their outrage stating that the word “bitches” should never be used to refer to women. They demanded the name be changed so they changed it to Good Christian Belles and later shortened it to GCB. New York city councilor Peter Vallone Jr has even gone so far as to announce a boycott on the show GCB claiming the series is “yet another outrageous attack on the Christian faith.” I have seen the show every Sunday and I have religious friends who actually watch it and enjoy it and I strongly disagree. I think the show has made light of a very touchy subject and has done it in a very tasteful way.

I think there is something very wrong with this world we live in. I am a firm believer in laughing at myself. I figure if I laugh at myself first then I’ll beat people to the punch and they won’t have a chance to poke fun at me because I already did it. I think these days everyone is much too stressed and takes things way too seriously. Where are peoples sense of humor? Many comedians have actually made a living at making fun of their religions or themselves and are quite successful at making light of serious topics. Why is GCB any different? I don’t see why people are so outraged. I come from a very religious family that does have a sense of humor but when it comes to their religion they take it very seriously. Maybe they constantly feel attacked and this may be what they consider to be another attack on their faith. I’m not too sure but I say get a sense of humor and appreciate that someone had the guts to put a TV show on the air about Christianity instead of some of the distasteful shows that are airing as we speak filled with teenage pregnancy, nudity and violence among other things. I haven’t personally seen anything like that so far on this show. I say stop taking life so seriously and stop focusing your attention on a silly TV show and instead focus your energy on the very real problems out there right now. Am I right? Maybe you have a different opinion that you’d like to express below. Please feel free.

The Unreal Housewives Of Vancouver

The Real Housewives of Vancouver: Reiko MacKenzie, Christina Kiesel, Mary Zilba, and Ronnie Seterdahl Negus

Usually I don’t watch The Real Housewives reality shows because I find them to be incredibly fake but being that I’m from British Columbia I wanted to see who television producers cast to represent the beautiful city of Vancouver. I myself don’t live in Vancouver because although it’s gorgeous the cost of living is too expensive for my blood. I actually live in a small town called Agassiz which is about one hour and 30 minutes from Vancouver. I still have the option to visit and enjoy the beauty and the shopping but I don’t have to live in the chaos. I was not surprised at who they chose and I resent the title Real Housewives Of Vancouver. First of all these women are anything but real. They use botox and get plastic surgery and dye their hair. That’s not real. Secondly most of them aren’t housewives. They have nannies who raise their children and most don’t cook their own meals. One woman is twice divorced and very wealthy, has no children and is definitely not a housewife. The majority of the housewives I know cook their own meals, some work and raise a family, they take care of their husbands and drive a minivan. They also have what’s called a budget. I guess that wouldn’t make for great reality TV and everyone loves drama. Here are the faces of The Real Housewives Of Vancouver.

Reiko Mackenzie

The Real Housewives of Vancouver: Reiko MacKenzie

“I live life in a fast lane, catch me if you can.”

Reiko Mackenzie is a Japanese-Canadian bombshell and seems to live life to the fullest. She enjoys mixed martial arts and has a huge garage full of an impressive collection of exotic sports cars.  Originally she had dreams of becoming a lawyer having earned her degree at the University Of British Columbia but after having her daughter she decided on staying at home to be a mother and from the looks of the lavish lifestyle she leads she is one of the lucky ones that doesn’t have to bust her butt to make a second income to support her family.  Her husband is a soft spoken venture capitalist and her mother lives with them as well. She seems like she can hold her own and what I wouldn’t give to have just one of her cars instead of the beat up mini van we drive around. All things considered she seems like one of the few that has her head on straight.

Mary Zilba

The Real Housewives of Vancouver: Mary Zilba

“I traded being a singer for being a mom, but now I’m ready to step back into the spotlight”

Prior to being a mom Mary Zilba had a successful career as a singer with many of her songs appearing on the top 40 chart although to be honest this is the first I’ve heard of her. She spends most of her time raising her 3 teenage boys ages 16, 15 and 13 but hopes to get back into the spotlight and perhaps this show is the way to do it. She lives in a luxurious waterfront penthouse and has recently got back into the dating scene but seems to pick the wrong men. Mary appears to be the meek one of the group. She hates confrontation and seems to care way too much about what people think of her. In the season premiere the ladies all went for a just girls vacation to Whistler and insults were being thrown at her left and right and she seemed to just sit there and take it. I actually felt a bit sorry for her. I wanted to scream at the television stand up for yourself!! Even her very best friend didn’t seem to have her back and just sat there smiling while one lady in particular bullied her and tried to pick a fight. I guess if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all.  Mary Zilba was crowned Miss Ohio and was a contestant in the Miss America pageant and also volunteers her time for a number of charities.  With a good head on her shoulders and the biggest heart of the bunch I fear she’ll get eaten up and spit out by the rest of the group.

Jody Claman

(image from

“Every Queen needs an empire and I built mine from scratch”

Jody is a very successful clothing store owner and a self-made business woman. She is a tough, no nonsense mother with a big personality and is brutally honest with whoever she meets. I find her to be one of the more annoying women of the bunch. She is constantly dressing over the top with gaudy jewelry and loud clothes and if the spotlight isn’t on her then it’s time for her to leave the room. Immediately on the first episode she causes waves in an all girls vacation to Whistler. She bullies Mary and throws insults at her left and right and ruffled a lot of feathers in the short time they were there. She feels she’s telling it like it is but I think there’s a way to get your point across without hurting peoples feelings. Although I find her personality to be too over the top I will give her lots of credit for what she’s done with her career. Jody was a single mother struggling to make ends meet and started her own catering company with only $800 to her name. She started off baking muffins and bake them she did. She made muffins morning, noon, and night and went from making $300 per day to making $50,000 per day. That is inspiration in what is a tough economy. She feels anyone can make something of themselves if they put in the time, effort, heart and soul and I believe she’s right.

Christina Kiesel

The Real Housewives of Vancouver: Christina Kiesel

“Vancouver is a goldmine and I love to go digging.”

Christina Kiesel looks at life with a very carefree attitude and lives a life of leisure having traveled to 30 countries in the last 4 years alone with her home base being Vancouver.  She is twice divorced and left very well provided for and many of the girls turn their noses at the fact that she doesn’t have to work and seems to have no problem finding new men or “sugar daddies” as some might call them. Although I honestly do like her personality, the fact that she doesn’t let anybody put her down and she seems like a genuinely nice and caring person I’m not sure why they cast her on the show. She’s not a housewife!! Then again none of the others seem to really be true housewives either. Christina mainly spends her days with an outspoken and successful  hairdresser named Kevin Chase and finds girls to be competitive and backstabbing so she chooses to have very few girlfriends. I think Christina has already seemed to spice things up on the show and seems to be causing a lot of jealousy. Many of the girls refer to her as a goldigger so I’m betting on lots of drama where she’s concerned because this is one woman who doesn’t back down and has no problem standing up for herself. She let fans know in her first Real Housewives blog, that she will NOT be returning for the second season if renewed because, there is nothing left for her ‘character’ to tell but we’ll have to see if she changes her mind.

Ronnie Seterdahl Negus

The Real Housewives of Vancouver: Ronnie Seterdahl Negus

“At this stage in my life, I can afford to say it like it is and look good doing it.”

She owns four houses side-by-side in a prestigious waterfront gated area in Vancouver. Her luxuries include a private jet, a yacht and a Napa Valley vineyard among other things. Ronnie has been happily married to her husband for 10 years and has 4 children as well as a step-daughter that range in age from 5-23 and she volunteers for many charities. She is Marys best friend on Real Housewives of Vancouver but I have a strong feeling their friendship is about to unravel. A best friend in my eyes always has your back and when her friend Mary was being insulted and bullied on an all girls vacation by Jody, Ronnie sat there and smiled. I don’t think Mary appreciated not having her friend in her corner when push comes to shove but I guess we’ll have to see how that all plays out.  Hopefully the next time her friend is being picked on she’ll stand up for her.

Do you think the producers got it right? Do you think these are the right women to be representing Vancouver? Please feel free to comment below and if you want to tune in to Real Housewives of Vancouver it airs on Wednesday nights at 10 pm ET/PT on Slice.

Did I Really Just Watch Jersey Shore?

Jersey Shore

I’ve known about the Jersey Shore for a very long time but I never had the desire to watch it. Somehow I felt very left out. Every Thursday night my friends on Facebook would announce that they were settling in to watch Jersey Shore. Every family dinner I went to my brothers would talk about Snooki and how she sunk to a new low. Well get ready for it because I finally watched what I consider to be the biggest train wreck on television.

I happened to catch the episode that focused on Snooki having some sort of a UTI which is a urinary tract infection. I think I sat there with my mouth open the entire time. Do these people really get paid to act like fools on TV? Did Snooki just get paid to act like an animal and pee on the balcony in the corner? Did someone really announce that they don’t wash their hands after going to the bathroom? How can they not be ashamed after watching their antics on television? I’m guessing it’s because they get paid big bucks to hit rock bottom.

The cast of Jersey Shore has a huge fan following and has even created their own slang such as:

Creep : To seek out a potential hook-up, preferably one who is under the influence of alcohol

Fist pump : A dance move used to show excitement at clubs

Fred Flintstone toe : A term never to be used to describe a woman’s big toe

Grenade : A less attractive girl on whom one has to throw one’s wingman to prevent her from exploding one’s good time with her hot friend

GTL : An acronym that stands for the daily beauty regimen of going to the gym, tanning and doing laundry

Heated : Fired-up, angry; often as a precursor to fighting

Juiced : Extremely built or muscular, often through the use of steroids

Pouf : A hairdo in which a large mountain of hair is piled on the crown of the head

Pound it out : To engage in sexual relations

Robbery : The act of stealing another male’s most recent female conquest

Smush : To engage in sexual relations

Vibe : To be attracted to another person

They use tons of hair gel, go tanning, go to the gym and do laundry every day (I’m glad they do some sort of household chore) and party to the break of dawn at the clubs after which the guys bring some random girl home and call her a cab usually right after or in the morning.

Even when they aren’t doing their thing on Jersey Shore they create attention for themselves by doing strange things like Snooki carrying toy dolls around in public to prepare for motherhood.

To me this show is most likely one of the nastiest shows I’ve seen on TV. I’m not quite sure how long they can keep up this charade. I’m hoping they’ll one day settle down and get normal jobs instead of acting like they belong in a traveling circus  for everyone to laugh at. I don’t think that people are tuning in to this show because of quality (unless I’m somehow wrong about the human race as we know it) I think they’re tuning in to laugh at the train wreck that is their lives!!

Missing Starts Off With A Bang

Missing 2012

It’s been a really long time since a show has captured my attention right off the bat. Usually when I start watching a show it takes awhile for me to get into it and sometimes my attention will go elsewhere in the process but not Missing. When I first started seeing previews for Missing I got excited. Right away I knew I’d fall in love and started anticipating the season premiere.

Missing is an American drama/thriller that stars Ashley Judd who looks amazing by the way. If I can look that great when I hit her age I’d be one happy camper. It revolves around a former CIA operative Becca whose husband was killed tragically in a car bombing in Rome while him and his son were on vacation.  Ten years later her son gets accepted into a summer architecture program in Rome. The same place her husband was killed. Becca is now living a normal life running a flower shop and is very reluctant to see her son go. He assures her he will be just fine but it turns out he was wrong. Her son is kidnapped and Becca is now leading the hunt as a desperate mother in search of her son relying on her skills and connections as a former CIA operative. Bit by bit little secrets and mysteries come to the surface and after every episode you’re left wondering what will happen next.

Although this show has many, many pros like the fact that all the acting is believable and well delivered and the storyline is really exciting I guess the only con I have is how long will they be able to keep this storyline up? How many more mysteries could there possibly be and how far can they take this story? How long will she be searching for her son? In order to survive on TV you have to have lots of tricks up your sleeves and keep viewers guessing. There is nothing worse than a show that delivers in the beginning and fizzles in the end. Hopefully that won’t happen with Missing because so far I’m really impressed!!

You can catch Missing on ABC. It airs Thursday nights at 8/7 c.

Ashley Judd as Rebecca “Becca” Winstone

Cliff Curtis as Agent Dax Miller

Sean Bean as Paul Winstone

Nick Eversman as Michael Winstone

Adriano Giannini as Giancarlo Rossi

Recurring Cast:

Laura Donnelly as Violet Heath and Jason Wong as Fitzpatrick: Members of Miller’s CIA team.

Gina McKee as Jamie Ortega: CIA director in charge of Dax’s station, based in Washington D.C.

Caleb Barton Smith as young Michael Winstone.

7 TV Shows You Shouldn’t Miss

I have compiled a list of my top seven absolute favorite shows on television currently. These are shows that if you haven’t yet seen you really need to check out. The actors in these shows bring it each and every week and each show I’ve chosen leaves me wanting more and excitedly anticipating each episode.

7.Being Human UK

Being Human Season 3

Being Human first started airing in the UK and followed soon after in the US with their own version of the show. I have watched both and to tell you the honest truth the US version does not do the show justice at all. For all those viewers who are as disappointed as I am with the US version please watch the UK version before scrapping the show entirely. Being Human UK has everything for me. There’s humor, great special effects and drama. It’s about a werewolf, a ghost and a vampire who all end up living under one roof and try to bumble through life trying to be “normal” despite being so glaringly different according to society. If you haven’t yet had the pleasure of seeing this show you can view it on Netflix like I chose to or you can try finding it elsewhere.

Community, Community

If laughter really is the best medicine then Community delivers my daily dose each week. This show has a brilliant, hilarious cast including Chevy Chase who is one of my all time favorite comedians so I was delighted to see him in this TV show. The first episode made me laugh so hard I cried and each show has delivered in the funny department so far. I actually just started watching this show starting with season 1 and I’m wondering where I’ve been and why this show wasn’t on my radar until now. I’m glad I finally found it and for those that have also missed out please give this show a try. You won’t be disappointed.

Shameless is one of those shows that may not be widely received by everybody but it always delivers shock value. Shameless revolves around this family that is living on the wrong side of the tracks. The Father is an alcoholic that’s always looking for his next scam and his children are being raised by his oldest daughter and left to fend for themselves. This family is completely shameless, sometimes rude and seem to always be mixed up in something illegal. Shameless totally delivers on many levels. The writer has a unique way of taking what many would consider an awful life and putting a refreshing humorous spin on it. I always wonder what they’ll get mixed up in next and I can’t wait to find out!

4.Blue Bloods

blue bloods

A dash of drama and a pinch of action makes the perfect recipe for a TV show. Blue Bloods has an all star cast including Tom Selleck and Donnie Wahlberg and it follows an Irish family, The Reagans, that are all working for or have worked for the NYC police department. For all of you that are tired of police shows please don’t give up on them just yet because Blue Bloods isn’t just any police show. They focus on the job, family drama and there’s twists and turns in each show. Every actor is spot on and the writing is impressive and that’s why I’ve never missed one episode of this show.

Homeland stars none other than Claire Danes which was the main reason I started watching this show. I love Claire Danes in everything she’s done and Homeland is no exception. I had a feeling I wasn’t going to be disappointed and sure enough I wasn’t. If someone asked me to describe the show Homeland in one word it would be thrilling. Homeland revolves around Claire Danes who plays a CIA officer who is Bipolar. She has come to believe that Brody, a U.S. Marine that was held captive by Al-Qaeda as a prisoner of war, was turned by the enemy and now is considered a threat to the U.S. This show is brilliantly written and acted and is guaranteed to entertain. You will never know what’s coming next and who is the enemy.Homeland has finished it’s first season on Showtime and was renewed for a second which is set to air on September 30th, 2012. I can’t wait to see what happens next!

2.Game Of Thrones

Game Of Thrones is one of those shows you have to see. I have fallen in love with this show from the very first episode. Many millions have gone into making this show and it’s well worth it. It’s filmed in beautiful Ireland and every show is a masterpiece. The stunning visual effects and quality acting has made for a show that impresses me on every level. Game Of Thrones is a medieval fantasy that follows the violent struggles of noble families for control of the Iron Throne. This show is already widely well received and has a huge fan following that is continuing to grow. If you haven’t checked this show out I urge you to do so. You will not be disappointed!

The show Damages begins with a young woman stepping out of an elevator bloody and confused and then they take you back to the beginning to weave a tale of suspense and mystery and explain exactly what happened to that young woman. Damages revolves around a young lawyer just starting out that is offered a job with a tough, no nonsense, famous lawyer at her firm. The actors in this show are amazing and each season gets better than the last. I watched each episode one after the other on Netflix and everything fell apart around me because I couldn’t stop watching. They are currently filming Season 5 which will be their last and I’m really excited to find out what twists and turns they have in store for me.
